Overview


The Inspire Scholars Program of the UCF Burnett Honors College, in partnership with Take Stock in Children, provides high-achieving, at-risk, and low-income students access to the opportunities and benefits of an honors education at a major, metropolitan research university.

Requirements


At minimum, the following criteria must be met for admission into the Inspire Scholars program:

  • Must be an active participant in the Take Stock in Children program.
  • Awarded Bright Futures Florida Medallion Scholars (FMS) or Bright Futures Florida Academic Scholars (FAS) award
  • Minimum Unweighted GPA of 3.5
  • Minimum SAT score of 1210 or ACT score of 25
  • Must be taking a rigorous high school course schedule.
  • Must demonstrate leadership, community service, or family responsibilities.

Benefits


Scholarship recipients receive a four-year Florida Prepaid tuition and residence hall housing award and up to $5,000 for cocurricular opportunities like study abroad, undergraduate research, and internships and other professional development. Scholars join a vibrant community of like-minded students and have specialized advising and mentoring.

Application Process


The application process first starts by applying to UCF by November 15th. Students then consult their Take Stock in Children Affiliate.

Step 1

Take Stock in Children Affiliate submits application and nomination letter by January 21.

Step 2

Zoom interviews with semifinalist are scheduled in February.

Step 3

Inspire Scholar finalists are notified in March.

Your college Take Stock in Children Affiliate will upload the material to the Take Stock in Children Drop Box. Accepted scholars must commit to the Inspire Scholarship and UCF by April 20th.
