How To: Apply For An REU

Dr. Hawthorne is Principal Investigator of an interdisciplinary and community-based NSF Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) Site that averages over 500 applications each year. He is also an assistant professor of geographic information systems at UCF.

In this informal lunch session, Dr. Hawthorne will explain what REU Sites are designed to accomplish, offer advice on how to stand out in the REU application process, discuss the most common mistakes made in applications, provide tips on how to network with REU PI’s, and most importantly answer your questions.
