The SIMITAR lab at the Institute for Simulation and Training (IST) conducts human factors engineering research including but not limited to areas of human-agent teaming, training, and technology evaluations. We have an opening for an unpaid research assistant. Our projects provide the opportunity to work on an Honors Undergraduate Thesis, mentored by one of the IST faculty in the lab. We especially invite junior and senior students in psychology and engineering to consider this opportunity. A psychology thesis may address issues such as human performance, workload and training, whereas an engineering thesis could investigate design and evaluation of technologies including immersive simulations, training systems, and headsets for delivering virtual and augmented reality.
