The Burnett Honors College is excited to announce the inaugural Honors Faculty Fellow Program. The program allows a faculty member to gain professional development and administrative experience while supporting the mission and goals of the Honors College. This year’s fellow will focus on promoting Honors In the Major to faculty and students, strengthening partnerships with college HIM coordinators, and assisting with the administration and assessment of the HIM program.

All tenured and tenure earning faculty and all full-time lecturers with a terminal degree are eligible to apply.  The fellowship is for the fall and spring semester and the time commitment expectation is for 8 – 10 hours a week.  It may be possible to reimburse a department for a course release, or in the alternative a $5,000 stipend will be provided each semester.

Evaluation of applications. Applicants will be evaluated based upon:

  • Experience with the Burnett Honors College
  • Experience with HIM
  • Experience with undergraduate research
  • Demonstrated excellence in communication skills


  • Letter of Interest (no longer than two pages) describing the applicant’s interest in the fellowship, goals for the fellowship period, and strengths brought to the role, and
  • current vita.

NOTE: A letter from the unit head indicating approval to serve in this role will be required before beginning service as an Honors Fellow.
