Cognitive Science Lab Research Assistant
Project Descriptions: We are currently conducting research on a number of projects related to cognition in complex environments. This includes examining social cognitive processes in human-robot interaction, decision making under uncertainty, as well as how to model social and cognitive processes as they arise in online platforms (e.g., Twitter, GitHub, Facebook).
Student Responsibilities: Our research assistants will be primarily expected to conduct literature reviews and assist with data collection. There will also be potential opportunities for data analysis and experimental design, among other research-oriented tasks for the above project.
Number of Students Needed: 3-4
Time Commitment: Volunteer 10 hours per week with availability at 2-3 days a week during normal business hours.
Student Requirements: Minimum GPA of 3.25 for BHC students. Applicants should have an interest in Cognitive Science, and be interested in research crossing disciplinary boundaries (e.g., Psychology, Computer Science, Engineering, Design, Organizational Behavior). Students should also have strong organizational, time management, and critical thinking skills. Students should be competent in Microsoft Office and have a willingness to learn statistical software (or other software related to project needs). Last, preference will be given to those who also have experience with website development and maintenance.
