Advanced Manufacturing Composites 2017 Internship Opportunity

IACMI is committed to building a strong Advanced Manufacturing Composites workforce.


THE IACMI INTERNSHIP PROGRAM supports the anticipated growth of the advanced manufacturing composites industry.   IACMI’s commitment to grow manufacturing and accelerate the  development of low-cost and energy-efficient manufacturing technologies can be achieved by fostering interest in these fields, nurturing talent in the nation’s future technical leaders, and continually engaging budding engineers and scientists. Supportive collaborations with IACMI partners lend a diverse experience to the program, for recruiting students of high quality and exceptional technical aptitude.


As an IACMI Intern, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Use state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment and software
  • Interact with scientists and engineers who are top of the advanced composites and manufacturing fields
  • Apply for an appointment for up to 400 participation hours in either a short-term, 10 week summer program, or a long-term appointment up to one year
  • Engage with over 300 industry, government, and academic members at IACMI’s Members Meeting
  • Receive a competitive stipend, housing assistance, and limited travel expenses


To be eligible for the 2017 Internship Program, an undergraduate or graduate student must:

  • Be a United States citizen
  • Be a student in good standing at a regionally accredited U.S. college or university
  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2
  • Be at least 18 years old at the time of appointment
  • Provide proof of health insurance coverage
