This year more than ever, many of the elementary schools that participate in the Junior Achievement program have expressed a great need for food donations. Many of the students who attend these schools come from families who cannot afford food, let alone a Thanksgiving dinner. By donating the following food items, you can share your Thanksgiving with one of these families and help to spread the warmth and joy of the holiday season:
Boxed mashed potatoes and gravy
Dry stuffing
Canned fruits and vegetables
Canned cranberries
Canned yams or sweet potatoes
Cornbread or other bread mix
Cake or cookie mix
Pie crust and pie filling
Or any other non-perishable food item
The Thanks and Giving food drive is going on now through Friday, November 20. Please bring all food donations to the Office of Research and Civic Engagement in BHC 102. For more information, please stop by our office (BHC 102) or call (407) 823-6402.
